The Dates Harvesting time!

Hello garden Friends, a couple of days ago we started harvesting our Dates from our Date Palms.

We planted 8 Date Palms approx three years ago in our garden, six Female and two Male trees since then we are getting each years plenty of Dates, this what you see on our table is just from 1 Palm Tree 🌴. Imagine how much we will have when we finished.

Little info about this magical tree which I genuinely adore not only for its fruit and look, but also for the energy they give me and my family, they are part of our being here in Dubai. Out trees have names and we are talking to them.

Dates are part of the UAE's identity and heritage. Dates have an essential place in the Middle Eastern region. Both dates and date palms are considered a symbol of power, triumph, abundance and faith. The UAE utilised and harvested dates as part of their food source for survival, as well as the use of the Date Palm tree for shelters built from its stalks and leaves.

Fruit yield for 5- to 8-year-old trees is about 22 pounds per tree; for 13-year-old trees, the crop is approximately 176 pounds. This is certainly crazy! Trees can reach 20 feet tall, excluding leaves, in 15 to 20 years, depending on growing conditions. A date palm that's over 100 years old can reach more than 100 feet tall 😲.

Do dates go bad? The dates last quite a long time, compared to other fruits. At room temperature, they can last between a month and up to 3 months. When you keep them in the fridge, they retain quality for between 6 and 12 months. We still have dates from the last year, and they taste like on the first day. Our Dates taste like luxury Swiss chocolate 😋😉.
